Should an insurance company change the way they are going to reimburse you once you have already posted a payment for services rendered or product supplied, TotalMD can help you fix this in the program.
Start in the Payment Screen
You will begin by putting in the new check information and Distribute it:
n the EOB Entry Screen, you will find your patient, please note the Unposted Amount at this time:
You will then check the Show Paid Transaction box at the bottom left, enter the takeback amount in the Takeback column and note your Unapplied Amount now shows a new amount:
You will then Post or Post and Close if you are finished with takebacks for this patient. If not, continue to add your takebacks until you are finished with this patient and then move on to the Insurance Batch Payment Entry Screen:
You will notice that your Unapplied Amount has now increased as well. You will now Distribute to add more Takebacks as necessary, or to apply your unapplied amounts:
