In TotalMD, within any screen that has an address in it, there is an Address Verification Tool.
We are going to focus on the Patient Demographics screen. By going to Patients and choosing a patient:
Once you open the patient demographic information, you will see a little green check mark beside the address:
Once you click the check mark, you will get a pop-up box:
You will notice that it changes the address to all caps and adds the additional four digits to your ZIP code. Once you click Yes, you will see the changes:
If you truly have someone with a bad address, such as it is missing a suite or apartment number, USPS will warn you about that as well:
