Connecting to TotalMD's cloud servers on non-Windows devices. These instructions focus primarily on Mac (Apple) computers, but they apply pretty closely to the Microsoft Remote Desktop app available on iOS and Android. The instructions below will take you from the first time connecting with the temporary password we give you, through connection. If you have already set your password, you can skip the first section.
Setting up your login
- Open your Internet browser (any browser is fine) and enter https://www.totalmdonline.com in the Address Bar. Protip: Pressing Command + L on your keyboard to immediately jump to your Address bar.
- In the “Domain\user name” field, enter in SAAS\ followed by the Username you were sent in a welcome email from Support.
- If this is your first time logging in, enter the temporary password you were given in the password field. (This will usually be "Password1" unless otherwise noted).
- Click (or touch) “Sign in”.
- You’ll see a new message (in small lettering) that says “Your password is expired. Click here to change it.” Click that “here” link.
- On the next screen, you’ll see your username carry over. If it didn't, re-enter it. Enter “Password1” in the “Current Password” field.
- In the “New Password” section, you can create your own custom password as long as it adheres to the following rules:
- Must be at least 8 characters long.
- Must contain at least 1 capital and 1 lowercase letter
- Must contain at least 1 number
- The password cannot be a password that has been used before.
- Retype the password for the “Confirm new Password” field. Press “Submit”
- If the process was accepted, you’ll see a new message that says “Your password has been successfully changed.” Press “OK”.
Setting up the Remote Desktop App
- If you don’t already have it, you’ll need to go to the App Store (or Google Play Store) and download the “Microsoft Remote Desktop” application. It may be called "Microsoft Remote Desktop 10" or "Remote Desktop Mobile". With a symbol that appears like this . (NOTE: if the application is unavailable, your operating system may need to be updated in order to use Remote Desktop)
- Once installed, open the application and click on the “Workspaces" button. Then click the + and select "Add Workspace".
- In the next window, fill in the boxes with the following information:
- Email or Workspace URL: https://www.totalmdonline.com/RDWeb/Feed/WebFeed.aspx
- User name: SAAS\(your username here)
- Password: (enter the password you created in the previous section)
- Click “Save” and wait for it to load your Work Resources.
- You should now be able to click on any available program in the Workspaces Work Resources window.

Updating your expired password
- If you receive a message about your username or password not being valid when trying to sign in from the Remote Desktop App, it is likely that it is time to update your expired password.
- Open your Internet browser (any browser is fine) and enter https://www.totalmdonline.com in the Address Bar. Protip: Pressing Command + L on your keyboard to immediately jump to your Address bar.
- In the “Domain\user name” field, enter in SAAS\ followed by the Username
- In the "Password" field, enter your current password
- Click (or touch) “Sign in”.
- You’ll see a new message (in small lettering) that says “Your password is expired. Click here to change it.” Click that “here” link.
- On the next screen, you’ll see your username carry over. If it didn't, re-enter it. Enter your current password in the “Current Password” field.

- After you receive the "Your password has been successfully changed" message, you can return to the Remote Desktop App
- In the Remote Desktop App, select the cogwheel for your settings, then select where it says "Preferences"
- Click on the User Account tab, and update the password field with the newly updated password that you successfully changed on the website
- From there, go ahead and close the Preferences window, and double click the TotalMD icon to log in like normal.
